A Year In Review and What’s Ahead for RBI

Hi there,

As the year winds down, I have been taking moments to look back at everything 2025 held. So much of our work happens off to the side of the spotlight. The planning and troubleshooting. The sketches and re sketches. The long strings of decisions that eventually become a home. It feels good to pause and acknowledge the projects and people who shaped this year and made it meaningful.

It has also been a season of real growth. New chapters opening. Ideas that lived in notebooks taking their first real steps. Between the work happening at RBI and the momentum building at RB Curated, there has been a lot unfolding behind the scenes. I am grateful you are here for the journey and that you continue to follow along.

A Growing Creative Community

RB Curated had a busy first year, and I’m so proud of the momentum we’ve built. From traveling to Guatemala in January to document the artisans we work with… to launching new collections… to connecting with designers through our Trade Program… it’s been energizing to see how many people are drawn to the stories and craft behind these pieces.

We have even more planned for 2026, and if you haven’t visited lately, you’ll find new resources, artisan highlights, and a few surprises coming soon. Please consider following our newsletter for upcoming announcements!

Expanding Our Design Work in Naples

One of the biggest transitions this year was expanding my design firm to Naples. It’s been an honor to work in a place with so much history and character, and it has already introduced us to projects that feel deeply personal.

In March, I shared the story of an old Naples guesthouse.  It’s a 1950s treasure that survived hurricanes, zoning limitations, and decades of aging. It’s a rare piece of Old Naples, made even more special because guesthouses like this can no longer be built today.

If you read that blog earlier this spring, you know how much care has gone into reviving it. Since then, the project has continued to move forward in ways that feel both challenging and exciting.

The house is officially lifted, the layout is taking shape, and we’re now working through the details that will bring warmth, functionality, and history together. Watching this little structure regain its footing—literally and figuratively—has been one of the highlights of my year.

If you missed the original post, you can read the story behind the project here: Reviving an Old Naples Treasure

Our Work in the Spotlight

2025 brought a number of press opportunities that reflected the kind of work we’re focused on—thoughtful, lived-in design with depth. These features allowed us to share our perspective on craftsmanship, proportion, and the role design plays in daily life.

Rather than chasing trends, these conversations centered on how homes function, how materials are made, and why intention matters. I’ve gathered this year’s features into a short press year-in-review for anyone who’d like to explore them.

Quiet Work Behind the Scenes

A lot of our design work never shows up on social media. It is not because we are not excited about it. It is usually because we are tucked deep into the details, making sure every decision feels right.

This year we have been quietly building several new projects that we will share more about in the new year. Each one has its own story and its own pace, and I am looking forward to letting you in a little more as they take shape.

Looking Ahead

As we move into 2026, my hope is simple: more thoughtful projects, more craft, more connection. Whether we’re restoring a historic guesthouse, designing a home from the ground up, or curating artisan-made textiles through RB Curated, the through-line is always the same: spaces and objects with heart, history, and intention.

Thank you for being part of this community. Whether you’re a client, a designer, or someone who simply loves the world of interiors and craftsmanship, I’m grateful you’re here. I hope the season ahead brings rest, inspiration, and a home that feels good to come back to.

Mistakes that Cost More to Fix

One theme that showed up often this year was helping clients fix problems that slipped in when decisions were made quickly.  Decisions such as sofas that overwhelmed the room, rugs that were too small, lighting that felt a little too bright, or window treatments that fought the natural light.

These are common issues, and they almost always come down to one thing: rushing the process.

When we slow down and understand how you actually live in a space, the right decisions become clear. Proportions feel balanced, lighting softens, and the home starts to work with you rather than against you.

It’s a reminder that thoughtful planning isn’t extra; it’s essential.

Holiday Hope Brunch – A Meaningful Morning in Naples

One of the bright spots of December was attending the Holiday Hope Brunch hosted by One Hope United. It was a beautiful morning at Sails Restaurant, filled with good conversation, thoughtful programming, and a shared commitment to supporting youth in Naples, FL.

One Hope United has been serving children and families for more than 130 years, and hearing more about their Hope House program was especially moving. These homes offer stability and connection for teens who have experienced too many transitions, giving them a place to grow, heal, and feel supported.

It was inspiring to be in a room where everyone was working toward the same goal of creating a stronger, more hopeful future for local youth.

Enjoy a cup of coffee with RBC…

Enjoy a little taste of Guatemala with your holiday shopping. All December orders will receive a free bag of specialty Guatemalan coffee.  It’s our way of sharing a bit of the warmth and craft we experience on every sourcing trip.
